The outline of the story-gentleman of Reo en Medio

GENTLEMEN OF RIO EN MEDIO is a very good story which has been sequencing around an old gentleman, his ancestors’ orchard – A piece of land where fruit trees are grown and selling of land.  It took months of negotiation to come to an understanding with the old man because he was not in a hurry to sell the land. The old man was unhurried.

Finally he came to the real estate office and he removed his hat and gloves, slowly and carefully’ which reminds us the actions of Chaplin. He had innumerable kin which means that the old man had a number of relatives in the village.

In the meeting of the old man and the Americans, they talked about rain and the old man’s large family due to break the ice. They told old man that they had made a discovery that the old man owned more land than he thought. The old man had agreed to sell the land for twelve hundred.

After the survey, the Americans were willing to pay almost twice the money they had agreed. When the story teller offered the old man double the price he stood up in anger. Don Anselmo agreed to sell the land for the Americans because they are good people.Don Anselmo signed the deed but refused to take more than the amount agreed upon. Don Anselmo took only twelve hundred dollars for the land finally because Don Anselmo was a man of principle.

Dom Anselmo sold his land but he didn’t sell his trees. Some days later the children of Rio trespassed the orchaerd. They complained the oldman. According to Don Anselmo, the real owners of the trees were the children of Rio en Medio. So Don Anselmo said them that he did not sell the trees because he thought they did not belong to him but to the children. Finally the Americans purchased the trees from the village children.
