If the statement Part of a Question Tag is in Affirmative or positive, the Question Part is written in Interrogative –Negation tag.
Ram is a dancer, isn’t she?
If the Statement Part of a Question Tag is in Negative,or having negative words like –nay,no,none,non,not,nothing,naught,never,nor,neither, the Question Part is written in Affirmative or possitve question tag .
Ramesh is not a dancer, is he?
The words like This / That, are used as the Subject of Statement is changed into ‘It’ in Question tag .
This is a new car, isn’t it?
The words like This / That + Noun, are used as the Subject of Statement gets Pronoun in Question tag according to the Noun.
This Boy is honest, isn’t he?
This Pen is red, isn’t it?
The words like These / Those, are used as the Subject of Statement is changed into ‘they’ in Question tag.
These are new cars, aren’t they?
The word like One (In sense of everybody / anybody) is used as the Subject of Statement is changed into ‘we /
they’ in Question tag.
One can do this work, can’t we / they?

If the Subject of Statement of a Question Tag has the first person pronoun -‘I’, Verb ‘was’ and Sentence
Negative the Question tag is written as ‘was I?’
I was not a dancer, was I?
The Statement of a Question Tag without Auxiliary Verb or having main verbs only , gets Question tag with the help of ‘do / does / did’.
Mohan plays cricket, doesn’t he?
He bought a car, didn’t he?
The words like ‘Need’ and ‘Dare’ are used as Auxiliary Verbs in Statement Part, gets Question tag with the help of ‘need / dare’only.
I need not buy a car, need I?
The words like ‘Need’ and ‘Dare’ are used as main Verbs in Statement, gets Question tag with the help of ‘do / does / did’.
