In 1453 , the Constantinople was captured by Ottoman turks. The trade and commerce between asian and europ was taking place through the city of constantinople which is now under the controll of Ottoman turks , which made the turks to have the controll over all trade and trade routes connecting through Constantinople.
The Turks started levying too many taxes on the goods passing through these routes. As a result the trade was unprofitable.at this time, Spain and Portugal were attempting to break the monopoly of Italians, which made them to encourage sailors to find new sea route to india.
The Invention of instruments like Astrolobe,compass and gunpowder helped to carryout this venture. This made the way to invent new sea route to india.
A portugues sailor who left LISBON and Reached Kappadu near calicut on the west coast of india in 1498 discovered successfully a new sea route to india, his name was VASCO-Da-Gama. This route discovered by vasco do gama was continued to be thw trade route between india and europe from many years. Thus the Portugues were the first to re-establish the trade between India and Europe.
