Archaeological sources are present in both on Earth Surface and also available in depth of deep earth. With the help of Scientific Methods the Archaeological sources are taken out digging earth.The Process is called Excavation.
1.INSCRIPTIONS
Inscription means engraved writing. Inscriptions are generally written on stone Rock metal Ivory Terracotta and other material that lasts longer. Inscriptions have a direct relationship with the events so they are considered as reliable. In India the most of the earliest inscriptions that are found in India are belongs to the age of Ashoka. Most of the encryption of Ashoka are written in Brahmi script their language is prakrith. There are thousands of inscriptions that are found in Kannada Telugu Tamil Sanskrit and prakrit languages.
Some of the examples are Immadi pulikeshi inscription In aihole.
Samudragupta inscription in Allahabad.
Inscriptions generally portray the military achievements or achievements of the rulers of their period.
For example
Uttaramerur inscription narrate the rural administration of Chola Kings.
Inscriptions also narrate many political social cultural economic educational religious aspects of their time.
2.COINS
Coins are small shape but they contain many important information.
Also helpful in understanding the geographical extension or boundaries of the rulers Kingdom moment at the coins. With the help of the coins we can understand the boundary or the kingdom of the king and also the language of Administration.
Coins are also helpful in knowing the title that the kings have their religion economic conditions of the time and the metal Technology.
For example Samudragupta had minted the seven different types of gold coins from which we can know that the Samudragupta was a lover of Music and he had conducted Ashwamedha yaga. The images that are present in the coins are also helpful to know the interest of the king. This is how coins are helpful to understand ancient history.
