In previous post we came across the Physical Nature of Matter and we came know that the Matter is madeup of Particles and how small in ther size.We also know the Defination of Matter and Matter has Mass and Volume. Now Let’s continue the concept in this post. We will be learning the Characteristics of Particles of Matter.
Particles of Matter have Space between them.
Particles of Matter are continuously moving.
Particles of Matter Attract Each other
-Characteristics of Particles of Matter
Particles of Matter have space between them,If we add sugar into Water it dissolves completly, and if we add dettol to water we can see that Dettol solution Evenly distribute into water and Dissappears. The Particles of one type of matter get into the spaces between the particles of Other. This shows that the Particles have enough space between them.
Particles of Matter are Continuosly moving,If we add a Ink drop to a clear water .What will will be the Result? the ink drop distribute into water and entire clear water will become the color of ink, how this ink distribute in water. So the Answer is Particles of Matter continuosly moving, that is they posess kinetic Energy. As the tempurature raises the particles move faster, which we can say it as”As tempurature increases the Kinetic energy of Particles also increases”. In above example we observe the particles of matter intermix on their own with each other.they do so by getting into spaces between the particles. This intermixing of Particles of two different types of matter on their own is called DIFFUSION.
Particles of Matter Attract Each other,Particles of matter have force acting on them. Consider example of water.A glass of contain so many water partilces , Each Water particle hold the other water particle each other.this force keeps the particles together.this strenght of the force of attraction varies from one kind of matter to another.
