After Conducting many experiments on Garden Pea Plants , Mendel Come to Conclusions namely Law of Unit Character, Law of Dominance, Law of Seggrigation or Law of Purity or First Law of Mendel, Law of Independent Assortment or Second Law of Mendel.
Based on the experiments he conducted, Mendel concluded the following Laws which known as Mendel laws of Genetics. Lets See one by one below.
Unit Characters:
A Plant with many characters inherited from Generations to Generation. Each charcter is controlled by “a Pair of Genes”. or The characters or units by themselves and are inherited from generation to generation. These Factors are responsible for the expression of Character.
Example: Height is controlled by two genes, One Gene for Tall(T) and one gene for Dwarf(t). This is called unit Character.
Law of Dominance:
When a pair of contrasting Characters are crossed.Only one character makes its Appearance in the F1 Generation. This is known as DOMINANT CHARACTER and other which doesn’t show itself inspite of being resent in the genotype is called RECESSIVE CHARACTER.
Example: During Sexual repreoduction, Gamets formation takes place. The Gamet Carrying ‘T’ for the Tallness with Dwarfness ‘t’, but its Phenotype is expressed as Tall.
For any given character there are two forms of factors. One factor is Dominant and the other factor is recessive.
Law of Segregation or Purity of Gamets:
Each Organism is formed of a bundle of characters. Each character is controlled by a pair of genes.
