“Environmental pollution” is one of the most crucial threats faced by our planet-Earth in the present day scenario. It is not a local issue but a global issue. It is a kind of continuous process of polluting the living and non living sources of nature-Earth, which leads to the disruption of the routine processes, causing irreversible changes in the environment. The agents of Pollutions are substances occurring in nature or created by human activities have caused pollution in the components of the environment: Air, Water, Noise,
I would like to elaborate each components of nature which are truly polluted by humans. The first one is Air and its pollution: Air is the free ultimate gift of nature. It is called ad PRAANA VAAYU in Kannada language. It is scientifically called as gas which contains oxygen and nitrogen and other gases which are essential to all the living beings. If there is no air, there will be no life on the earth. Now a days air is being polluted and is become impure and causes for air pollution.
Man is the main cause of the air pollution. He is polluting the air in order to increase his material comforts.The smoke of Industries and urbanization are also main cause for air pollution. In industrial cities air is filled with carbon dioxide, monoxide, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen and phosphate are spoil the purity and freshness of air. Using too many vehicles causes air pollution.
Nuclear weapons and thermal power stations cause for air pollution . Breathing impure air may serious and dangerous diseases like, cancer, asthma, skin diseases, etc. Breathing impure air also cause death It also resulted in thinning ozone layer and it will bring disaster to living beings on the earth.
Awareness should be telecasted in mass media. Industries should be set up away from cities and emission pipes should be set up high in the sky. Emission test should be made compulsory for all types of vehicles. Vehicles should be maintained in good condition. There should be ban on nuclear weapons tests. Many programs should be conducted in villages.
Then, I would like to elaborate the second important components of nature- Water, which is truly polluted by humans day by day. It is called as JEEVA JALA-liquid of life. It’s essential to all living beings. It covers around 70% of the earth. Now a days water is being polluted by Man.
Man centered activities are polluting the water and water sources due to his comfort. Urbanization and industrialization are the main reason for pollution of water: Use of chemicals and fertilizers to grow crops, wastages of agriculture is also cause for pollution. Letting out domestic wastages, drainages into the rivers and tanks. Industries and factories letting out waste chemical mixed water in to rivers.
Use of polluted water may cause serious diseases and even death. It effects mainly on our health. It may cause callora, typhoid, and other serious diseases. It also effects on birds, animals, sea animals. To avoid this ,We should purify polluted water before letting into rivers We should create awareness among people about importance of water.
Then, I would like to elaborate the third important components of nature- Sound which is truly polluted by humans day by day. The man is not only polluting air, water, etc but also sound. The sound pollution means producing high unpleasant decibel sound for hearing. The sound of high decibel is unpleasant that spoils the peace of the environment. The sound is measured in decibels. Sound beyond 80 DB is harmful to the man.
The Causes of Sound Pollution is again the man and his made world. Industrialization and urbanization are the two major factors for sound pollution. In urban areas many vehicles produces high decibel of sound which cause sound pollution. Increase of industry, factories and automobiles etc are also spoiling the peace of environment. Using the loud speakers DG music in the functions is also cause sound pollution. Bustling crackers in the festivals, workshops, heavy machines, using supersonic planes, cause the sound pollution . The high decibel of sound may cause many serious diseases: heart problem, high blood pressure, gastric, nervousness, sleeplessness, irritability. and causes deafness.
The sound pollutions have to be controlled so that many steps have to be taken. Industries and factories should be set up away from city and tours. Vehicles, machines and automobiles should be maintained in good conditions and instruments of sound reducing have to be used. Trees should be planted along the roads which reduce the sound pollution. Awareness programs should be telecasted through the mass media..
To Conclude, As we know that men are the root cause of all kinds of pollution. It is important to control the air pollution, the water pollution and the sound pollution immediately. Otherwise we and our surrounding nature are leading towards in endangered. It is evidenced by the loss of biodiversity, loss of flora and fauna, and appearing new diseases and stressful life in the human socity etc.
